This property is situated in Garrygall a 5minute drive from Castlebay. Castlebay is the main village on Barra and has a couple of hotels, a church, post office, school, grocers, supermarket, bank, swimming pool and petrol station. The Isle of Barra, the second southernmost inhabited island, in the Outer Hebrides, is one of the most beautiful islands in the UK. The island offers a tranquil place to live with a distinctive culture and fascinating history. Barra is only 8 miles long and 4 miles wide  and has a population of approximately 1300. The island has stunning white sandy beaches and there are several lochs which also provide great fishing.

Getting there - Loganair service to Glasgow daily Monday to Saturday. Barra has a beach runway. By sea the main route to Barra is by CalMac ferry from Oban and the crossing takes 4 hours 50 minutes. You can also get a ferry to from Lochboisdale on South Uist which takes 2 hours 5 minutes. A shorter journey from neighbouring Eriskay to Barra takes 40 minutes.
